The past year has reminded me of the fleetingness of youth and everything in existence is temporary. But the ephemeral and temporality of life is not to be feared or suppressed but to be embraced as a sublime part of our existence because life is a series of natural and spontaneous change.
That health is of utmost importance and should never be taken for granted.
That life is not easy for any of us but that shouldn’t stop and crush our spirit. We must have perseverance and confidence in ourselves. Should we never lose hope and believe that we are gifted for something and there is a place specially crafted for each and every one of us. As they said, she who has a why to live can bear any how and those who wish to sing always find a song.
That it is important to maintain balance; I love the light for it shows me the way yet I endure the dark for it shows me the stars. There’s a silver lining to everything that happened in life, though it might not be obvious at times. We celebrate each achievements yet stand strong in the face of adversities.
2017 is the year of growing up and loving myself, both as an individual and as a woman. It’s about standing up for the values I uphold and against prejudices, knowing when to cut ties with toxic people who continuously trying to bring us down. Should we never let people dictate what we can and can’t be based on our gender, we can be whatever we aspire and envision to be. In the process, I learn to forgive myself, acknowledge my mistakes, move on and focus on the now. It’s realising no matter how bleak, darkness won’t last and the sun will rise eventually.
Quality trumps quantity, especially in relationship. It doesn’t matter how many friends I have in total, what matters is how many of them are there when I need them the most. Words can only go so far and when the relationship is genuine, it will overcome time and distance.
It is discovering that life is not about discovering but creating yourself. When she believes in herself, she doesn’t need to convince others. When she is content with herself, she doesn’t need others’ approval. When she accepts herself, the world will accept her.
And for Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. Have faith and I shall see.
Here’s hoping for better days ahead. For a year full of wonders and adventures, cheers!
