I have hoped that distance will allow me to escape,
the cold grasp of these suffocating thoughts of what could be,
between you and me, not you and her.
I have run,
dashing, before my legs give in and my lungs collapse.
Yet I am still left to wonder,
how to outrun these haunting memories;
of you and your faces,
you and your smiles,
you and and your sweet promises,
you and your traces.
